Today seems like a good day to launch, right? It’s the first day of Fall, first day of the week, and it’s the 23rd ← hey, that’s my favorite number!

Ok, but really, any day could’ve, would’ve, been a good day… so enough with the “could’ve, would’ve, should’ve”… here we are!

Welcome to my blog! My name is Maggie and you can read about why I started PasadenaMom over at the “About” page - but while you’re here, let me share with you 5 facts about me:

I’m born on Leap Day 🐭 - In 2020, I’ll be celebrating my 9th birthday so if you wanna know my age, do the math… and, if you have no clue what Leap Day is (believe me, I get this a LOT) - google it!
I went to culinary school 👩🏻‍🍳 - yup, right here in Pasadena! Cooking and entertaining has always been my therapy, but, can I let you in on a little secret? I -hate- ok, strongly dislike, cooking at home for my kids - maybe it’s the lack of creativity or lack of appreciation I get from two little ones who like something one day and then decide they hate it the next - regardless, it’s something I work on daily and menu planning with the kids ahead of the week has been super helpful (more on that later…)
I’m a stay-at-… ugh, I can’t even finish that sentence… 👩🏻‍💼 - As someone who has always had a job since I was 14 and the “breadwinner” of my relationship for close to 2 decades, the past few years has been an interesting shift. I joke that I am the anti-stay-at-home stay-at-home mom because I am usually out and about during the day finding reasons NOT to be at home. That being said, I know it’s a privilege for me to be able to not work and while it’s been a hell of a roller coaster ride, I don’t have any regrets about it. I’m also incredibly proud of my husband and all that we have been able to achieve in his career because of this decision - and yes, I mean we, because it’s been a team effort.
I don’t live in Pasadena (what?!) 🙊 - ok, so I did live in Pasadena for almost 10 years when I started @PasadenaMom, but when my older daughter started school, my family made the decision to move back to my hometown of Arcadia - just the next city over, so I’m still in Pasadena almost every day!
So… why start a website/blog now? 🤷🏻‍♀️(refer to #3) - If you’ve been following along on my Instagram the past few years, you probably noticed that I’ve been working out a lot… and while yes, I am on this kick to stay active and be healthy, it has also been my way of coping with the major shifts in my life. With both my girls in school full time, I’m excited to focus my energy on new challenges for myself and growing this beautiful community, so thank you for following along… I can’t wait to share more about my journey with you.
